Although dogs cannot speak, owners can roughly know their health status based on their daily behavior changes such as mental state, appetite, and behavior. Because dogs walk frequently, their feet are easily damaged. How can we quickly check if dogs walk abnormally?

Check the dog's lame foot and the dog's legs to see intuitively whether there is any cause of pain. First, when you find that the dog is lame, check carefully whether there are any trauma to varying degrees. The meat pads on the soles of the feet are slim, which is the most common. Then there is whether there is any broken or swollen place in the toes, and then whether there is any trauma on the legs, etc. You can first check and determine whether it is a problem that you can solve.

Use your hands to gently press and caress the dog's lame leg to see if there is any swollen or different parts of the other leg. If there is no trauma, it may be a problem under the skin. I stroked and pinched the dog's lame legs slightly hard, and pinched them along the base of my thighs until my feet, feeling whether there was a very hard place or a swollen bag. Pay attention to whether the dog is sensitive to pulling out his legs when pinching a place.

If you are not sure whether a part of the dog's leg is normal, you can refer to the leg that the dog does not have lame and touch if the other leg has the same structure. Straighten the dog's legs and check if it is caused by the bones or ligaments. The way to check whether there are any abnormalities in the dog's joints or ligaments is to straighten the dog's lame leg with force. See if the dog has a resistant reaction. If it is not a particularly struggling resistance, it shouldn't be much of a problem. If you pull the dog, it will hurt, it will definitely struggle hard.

After all the above inspections, no problem was found, so let's observe it first. Sometimes it may be that it hits the legs or somewhere on the feet, and the ligaments are not damaged or the skin is broken. It is difficult to find the reason. After a few hours, it will get better slowly. If the dog is still lame after 4-5 hours, then you have to take the dog to see a doctor. If you can't walk on both hind legs at the same time, you should take it to the doctor immediately, because it may be a spinal problem.
