The Post reported that Arsenal fan Ty claimed that security personnel overreacted after a conflict with Sunderland fans.

Following Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Sunday, a video went viral showing the AFTV star being forcibly pulled away from rival fans by a security detail. In the video, security personnel can be seen grabbing the Arsenal fan close to his throat as they push him away from the opposing fans. Ty shouted as he was pushed into the street by security officers before another man came over and tried to pull him away from the scene of the conflict.

It is unclear whether the security personnel works for the home team or the away team, as visiting clubs usually bring their own security personnel to assist with games. AFTV discussed the incident on its YouTube channel on Monday, with Ty claiming it was initially sparked by Sunderland fans "getting in our face" after their team's late equalizer.

Ty said he simply responded with "We are top of the league," but the comment led to the intervention of security personnel.

He said: "What happened is that when we came out, the Sunderland fans were right in front of us and I responded by saying 'we are top of the league'. I was not abusive or swearing, I just answered them, but the security staff didn't like it."

Ty also suggested that Sunderland should let one side leave first in similar situations to avoid conflicts: "We When we came out, they got in front of us. If this was Sunderland versus Newcastle, this would never have happened because it would have been very serious. I think because of the way the game ended, you should have let us go first or let the Sunderland fans go first."

AFTV presenter Robbie Lyall backed Ty, saying he thought the reaction from security was "overly violent." Lyle said he was "joked" by home fans as he left the Stadium of Light, but laughed it off and advised Ty not to respond to provocations from rival fans.

"When I saw it, I felt like the security guys did go a little overboard, and Ty just responded by saying, 'We're top of the league,' and he was fighting back against them, just like they were fighting back against him," Lyle said. "I don't think he needed to grab you by the neck and push you out like that, I felt like that was a little too much." AFTV has become a hot topic on the Internet since its inception in 2013 for the often exaggerated reactions of its fans. Some regulars have become well-known faces and are sometimes heckled outside games.
