Billy Vega was in an artificial coma after suffering severe brain injury last Saturday. On Tuesday, he underwent surgery to fight for the possibility of recovery. Although the surgery was helpful, the injury was too serious and he passed away on Thursday (25th). The feedback received after the initial update shows how much Billy is valued and loved in the sport. His family was distraught by the misfortune he suffered while engaging in a passionate sport.

Billy Vega comes from Arsenal's famous youth training academy and has been promoted from the U18 echelon to the U21 echelon close to the first team. He then was loaned to Derbyshire and Eastbourne between 2022 and 2024, before leaving Arsenal forever. Vega initially joined Hastings United and moved to new team Chichester City this season.
