As the wave of artificial intelligence (AI) has driven the development of semiconductor industries, investment institutions' long-term demand for ASML products remains optimistic because these AI semiconductors generally adopt the latest semiconductor manufacturing technology. Although many semiconductor manufacturers have delayed the introduction of a new generation of High-NA EUV. But overall, the market demand for exposure equipment is still on the rise.
According to reports from foreign media Techpowerup, ASML recently stated that based on current order information and needs, it is expected that 10 sets of High-NA EUV and 56 sets of EUV exposure machines will be delivered in 2027. Among them, Intel and Samsung have recently increased the order volume of exposure machines. Intel has increased the order quantity of High-NA EUV from 1 to 2 sets, the order quantity of EUV from 3 to 5 sets, and Samsung has also increased the order quantity of EUV from 5 sets to 7 sets.
Also worth noting is SK Hynix. In 2027, the EUV exposure machines to be delivered by ASML account for 20 sets, and the number of High-NA EUV orders has also increased from 1 set to 2 sets. In addition, it was reported that SK Hynix plans to install 20 sets of EUV exposure machines in the next two years, all of which were purchased for HBM and storage solutions.
Although Intel is likely to be the first semiconductor manufacturer to introduce High-NA EUV exposure technology during mass production. However, Samsung and SK Hynix are heading for the brink. Especially SK Hynix, with its current capacity expansion speed, is expected to require more factories to leave enough space for preparing and installing an exposure machine.
